CoreJSON

JSON to Markdown Table

This converter turns a JSON array of objects into a GitHub-flavoured Markdown table. The field names become the headers, and you can right-align numeric columns so figures line up. It is a quick way to turn an API response or a configuration list into documentation you can paste into a README or a wiki. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Paste a JSON array

Provide an array of objects, one object per table row.

  2. 2

    Choose the alignment

Optionally right-align numeric columns while leaving the rest left-aligned.

  3. 3

    Let it build the table

Headers are taken from the union of fields and each row is filled in automatically.

  4. 4

    Copy the table

Take the Markdown source and paste it into any Markdown-capable document to render it.

Key features

Automatic headers

Column names are the union of all object fields, and missing cells are left empty.

Right-aligned numbers

Numeric columns can be detected and right-aligned so the table reads neatly.

GFM compatible

The output is a standard Markdown table that renders on GitHub, in wikis and in most docs editors.

Safe cell content

Pipes inside a cell are escaped so they cannot break the table, and newlines are replaced with <br>.

Fast to read

Turn raw data into a shareable table without writing Markdown by hand.

Local and private

The conversion runs in a Web Worker in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Common errors & troubleshooting

  • ! Pipes inside a cell are escaped so the table structure stays intact, and line breaks are replaced with <br>.
  • ! Nested objects and arrays are placed in a cell as compact JSON text; flatten the data first if you want them spread across columns.
  • ! The header order follows the first appearance of each field; enable key sorting to get an alphabetical order instead.
  • ! The input is expected to be an array of objects; a bare array of scalars will not produce a meaningful table.

Frequently asked questions

Is nested data supported?

Nested objects and arrays are placed into the cell as compact JSON text. To expand them into separate columns, flatten the JSON first.

How is the header order decided?

Headers are the union of fields in order of first appearance; enabling key sorting switches them to alphabetical order.

Where can I paste the result?

Anywhere Markdown renders — a README, wiki, issue comment or docs editor. The output follows the GFM table syntax.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The conversion runs locally in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
